Established as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of Fethard Community Council, the Community Café has quickly become a popular addition to the town. Based in the Fr Tirry Centre, it provides a welcoming space run by volunteers and supported through community effort. Jack Hayes, a Tús participant, is part of the café team and helps with the day-to-day running of the service. The placement has provided him with an opportunity to develop new skills, build confidence and gain practical work experience. Jack particularly enjoys the variety of the role and being part of a team that makes the café such a welcoming place.
“I’ve really enjoyed my Tús placement. The support and encouragement I’ve received from my manager has helped me grow in confidence. I would happily recommend the Tús Programme to others.” – Jack Hayes, Tús Participant
