David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in organic growing, soil health and biodiversity to the Newcastle Community Garden. Through his work at the garden, people of all ages have opportunities to learn about food production, nature and the environment in a practical way. From young children attending the local Naíonra to members of the local Men’s Shed, visitors regularly engage with the garden and its activities. He also supports volunteers and community groups to develop practical gardening skills while encouraging sustainable growing practices that can be applied at home and in the wider community. By sharing his skills and encouraging participation, David has helped develop the garden as a place of learning, inclusion and community engagement.
