In the lead up to Christmas 2025, wreath-making workshops were held in Emly, Clonmel and Killenaule, bringing together members of the Traveller and Ukrainian communities alongside local senior citizens.
While participants learned the skills involved in creating seasonal wreaths, the workshops provided a practical opportunity for people from different backgrounds and cultures to meet and get to know one another. Working side by side, participants exchanged ideas, shared traditions and developed new connections. The workshops demonstrated how a simple shared activity can support integration, helping people from diverse communities build relationships and engage with one another in a natural and informal way.
“It was great to meet people we wouldn’t normally meet and spend time together doing something different. We had good conversations, shared a few laughs and got to know each other a little better.” – Participants Feedback
