Sean, from Lisronagh, shares how participating on the Tús Programme has positively impacted his life. Sean joined the scheme in April 2023. At the outset, he met with his Team Leader who chatted to Sean about his interests, skills and hobbies. His Team Leader recommended a placement with Moyle Rovers GAA. Sean says “I am thoroughly enjoying the experience. It’s better than staying at home doing nothing.”
Due to health reasons, Sean can only work part-time, and after a year of unsuccessfully applying for jobs, he found himself frustrated. “I was sending CVs left, right and centre, and getting nothing.”. Sean went on to say that the Tús Programme has provided him with a new sense of purpose. “It gets me out of the house, gives me responsibility, and I love the flexibility of fitting in my 19.5 hours each week. Plus, I enjoy doing something different.” He wholeheartedly recommends the programme to others in similar situations.
