STDC has employed a Rural Recreation Officer since 2008. The RRO covers all of County Tipperary. The work of the RRO is guided by the strategic values of “Embracing Irelands Outdoors 2023- 2027”. The focuses on bringing a more joined-up approach to the development of outdoor recreation infrastructure. STDC plays a pivotal role in delivering on this important work in County Tipperary. Maintenance of walkways is another key element of our work. STDC, aided by participants on our Rural Social Scheme, work with and support landowners and communities along Walk Scheme Trails. We support other communities in their work in development and enhancement of walking trails within their local area.
