Ballingarry GAA Club – Walkway and accessibility enhancements

In 2018 Ballingarry GAA Club completed a three-year strategic vision and action plan for the development of their club. This plan identified that access to their facilities and wider infrastructure could be enhanced for the benefit of all living in Ballingarry and surrounding areas. They applied and were approved for LEADER funding for two phase projects in 2018 and 2019. The funding allowed Ballingarry GAA Club to enhance accessibility to the field and the walking track and for the installation of energy efficient LED lighting around the track. The new and enhanced surface on the walking track now allows for people of all abilities, including those with additional needs, to use this vital social, physical, and recreational amenity widely and safely throughout the year. The project also incorporated enhanced access to the facility by improvements to the existing pedestrian area and car park.
