Tipp Mid West Radio is a community radio station serving Tipperary, Cashel and surrounding areas in Co. Tipperary and to a wider global audience online. It is a great example of a social and community enterprise led by volunteers that supports all communities, business and services in the area. The station, with its extensive and varied range of programming, aims to “inform, educate and entertain” and has been providing a vital social, cultural and economic service for the past 35 years.
With the help from a grant from LEADER, the Community Radio Station purchased and installed a new Operating Desk for one of their studios at St Michael Street in Tipp Town along with a new Outside Broadcast (OB) Unit allowing the presenters to go out into the community and bring the station to the people. Pictured below are the team preparing to present the live results from the General Election using the new equipment.
