Local Area Employment Service (LAES)
Local Area Employment Services provide a supportive and friendly service to assist job seekers in their journey into employment.
Introduction
Our caseworkers offer specialised services in job search skills including tailored CVs, assistance in job applications and interview skills and support. We can help you with:
- Developing a curriculum vitae (CV).
- Gaining important work experience.
- Finding suitable training.
- Up-skilling through education.
- Deciding to work for yourself.
- Moving to a new job.
Who is LAES For?
The service is for jobseekers, in particular the long term unemployed clients farthest from the labour market with barriers to labour market participation. People in receipt of Job-seekers payments are referred to the LAES by the Department of Social Protection and we work with each client to support and assist them into employment.
Our service is a very person centred approach and we work closely with each client to identify a suitable path forward. Our work includes collaboration with several other programmes, sign posting to services such as SICAP and Tús, Community Employment (CE) scheme, ETB courses, Workplace Experience Programmes, Funding assistance for specific training such as Safe pass, manual handling and Computer Skills

Are you struggling to source skilled talent into your business? Local Employment Services offer a free recruitment service to employers, advertising their vacancies to unemployed job-seekers in South Tipperary and Waterford areas. We can:
- Help with your recruitment needs, matching suitable candidates to local jobs
- Provide information on employer incentives e.g. Jobs Plus
- Advertise jobs for free in our weekly jobs pack
